If you cannot partition it into water and extract your product with a non water miscible solvent, the only other option is to remove the DMSO. Remeer the partition coefficient of the product in the non water miscible solvent must be higher than that of it for DMSO/water. Removal of DMSO is a pain in the arse, we do it on our rotovap occasionally.
